Demonstrations continue in France after the government announced a regulation that would raise the retirement age to 64.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon, leader of the French ultra-left Party of Unyielding France, called on youth organizations to gather in Bastille Square to protest against the pension law.

Various youth organizations and some student associations also supported the call of the left party. In the demonstration, where extensive security measures were taken, the activists broke the windows of cash machines and banks.

Protesters demanded that the government backtrack on the pension arrangement. (UAV)
