This February 11, Jean-Michel Blanquer announced a reduction in the health protocol in schools which goes from level 3 to level 2 in the first degree on the return from the February school holidays. From this date, EPS courts will again be able to take place indoors without a mask.

This Friday, February 11, the Ministry of National Education announced a simplification of the health protocol in schools which goes from level 3 to level 2. This new protocol will come into effect after the end of the February holidays in each zone. In particular, it provides for the possibility of practice indoor physical and sports activities again without a mask respecting the rules of social distancing. On the other hand, contact sports are still not authorized without wearing a mask. In colleges and high schools, it is still the level 2 health protocol that applies to all metropolitan departments. It states that sporting activities should take place outdoors and that activities practiced indoors (contact sports are prohibited) must only be done with respect for social distancing.

Can balls be used for sports at school?

The use of equipment shared by pupils of the same class or of the same class group is possible (rackets, balls, shuttlecocks, etc.). It is nevertheless recommended to disinfect common equipment on a regular basis and to encourage students to use hydro-alcoholic gel.

Can changing rooms be used?

When students have to change before and after sports and the use of locker rooms is unavoidable, individual changing rooms are recommended. Failing this, “the collective changing rooms can be used in strict compliance with the health protocol. These changing rooms can be located within establishments or in the community gymnasiums usually used (even for an activity taking place outside these)” specifies the Ministry of National Education, which emphasizes that the changing rooms must be ventilated regularly. .
