The wave of violence with shootings and explosions in Stockholm continues.
The latest in the series are two acts of violence in the southern parts of the city.
For the second night in a row, an apartment in Farsta strand in southern Stockholm was shelled. The alarm about loud bangs came at 01:43.
– It has been pushed in through a window. There were people in the apartment. No one has been injured, says Andreas Dahlin, officer on duty at the police.
The police are looking for suspected perpetrators.
– We have cordoned off the crime scene and are interviewing residents in the area.
At 22:00 on Thursday, there was also an explosion in a stairwell in an apartment building in Årsta in southern Stockholm.
– An explosive charge has been thrown into the stairwell with shrapnel damage as a result, says Ola Österling, press spokesperson at the police to TT.
No one has been reported injured in connection with the explosion.
The case is classified as public destruction. No one has been arrested.
During the night to Thursday, two other apartments were shelled in different parts of Stockholm – one in Farsta and the other in Husby in north-west Stockholm.
No one was injured in the crime, but the police assume that the events are a continuation of the wave of serious crimes that have taken place in the Stockholm area in the past two weeks.
– There is a high probability that this can be connected in one way or another to the conflicts that resulted in a number of explosions, attempted murders and murders, says Ola Österling after the explosion in Årsta.
The police announced on Thursday that in the last 24 hours they had arrested “about ten” people suspected of being involved in the wave of violence. According to the police, the people have connections to criminal networks.
