Shots were fired through the window and into an apartment in Farsta strand, south of Stockholm, during the night towards Friday.

The police were alerted to two loud bangs at 01:43 and have started a preliminary investigation into attempted murder and aggravated weapons offences.

– There were people in the apartment, but no one was injured, says Andreas Dahlin, police officer on duty.

During the night, the police had an ongoing operation in the area. No one is arrested.

The police are investigating a connection with a similar shooting at another address in Farsta on the night of Thursday.

Then shots were fired through an apartment door.

  • Suspected murder in stairwell

    A man in his 30s died in a stairwell in Bro, north of Stockholm, during the night towards Friday. The police were alerted by SOS at 00:56.

    – We received it as a suspected cardiac arrest. On the spot, we could ascertain that the man had injuries and he died on the spot, says Andreas Dahlin, police officer on duty.

    The police have opened a preliminary investigation into murder and sent technicians to the apartment building.

    A man in his 40s was arrested in an adjacent apartment.

  • CIA chief in Kyiv for meetings

    William Burns, head of the American intelligence agency CIA, was in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv last week to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, reports The Washington Post.

    At 23.50 the police and emergency services were alerted that someone had broken a gate in Tyresö, poured in flammable liquid and then set it on fire.

    Emergency services and police have been on the scene. The fire department was able to quickly extinguish the fire and air it out.

    – There was a fire just inside the front door, says Pär Josefsson, alarm operator at the rescue center.

    No one is said to have been injured in connection with the incident, which has similarities to information available about the fire in Fittja during Thursday evening.

    An explosive charge has detonated in a stairwell in Årsta.

    A large police operation is underway at the scene.

    According to the police, there is shrapnel damage in the stairwell.

    A witness in the area describes a large blue light streak in Årsta.

    – I see six or seven fire engines, five ambulances and I don’t know how many police cars.

    – Someone is standing and shining up and down with headlights on the facade and an unusual number of cars are driving on the street. It usually means that the South link has been shut down.

  • Fire after alarm about explosion

    The police have been alerted to an explosion in Fittja, south of Stockholm, according to information given to Aftonbladet.

    Heavy smoke is visible at the scene.

    The emergency services confirm that a fully developed fire is raging in an apartment in an apartment building.
