Shooting through the window
Shots were fired through the window and into an apartment in Farsta strand, south of Stockholm, during the night towards Friday.
The police were alerted to two loud bangs at 01:43 and have started a preliminary investigation into attempted murder and aggravated weapons offences.
– There were people in the apartment, but no one was injured, says Andreas Dahlin, police officer on duty.
During the night, the police had an ongoing operation in the area. No one is arrested.
The police are investigating a connection with a similar shooting at another address in Farsta on the night of Thursday.
Then shots were fired through an apartment door.

Suspected murder in stairwell
A man in his 30s died in a stairwell in Bro, north of Stockholm, during the night towards Friday. The police were alerted by SOS at 00:56.
– We received it as a suspected cardiac arrest. On the spot, we could ascertain that the man had injuries and he died on the spot, says Andreas Dahlin, police officer on duty.
The police have opened a preliminary investigation into murder and sent technicians to the apartment building.
A man in his 40s was arrested in an adjacent apartment.
The police see no connection between the suspected murder and the ongoing gang war.
CIA chief in Kyiv for meetings
William Burns, head of the American intelligence agency CIA, was in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv last week to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, reports The Washington Post.
According to information from an American source, Burns should also have met with Ukrainian intelligence officials.
The CIA chief has continuously forwarded American intelligence information to Ukraine about Russia’s activities during the war. (TT)
Poured flammable liquid into port – lit
At 23.50 the police and emergency services were alerted that someone had broken a gate in Tyresö, poured in flammable liquid and then set it on fire.
Emergency services and police have been on the scene. The fire department was able to quickly extinguish the fire and air it out.
– There was a fire just inside the front door, says Pär Josefsson, alarm operator at the rescue center.
No one is said to have been injured in connection with the incident, which has similarities to information available about the fire in Fittja during Thursday evening.
The police have started a preliminary investigation into damage by fire.

Explosion in Årsta
An explosive charge has detonated in a stairwell in Årsta.
A large police operation is underway at the scene.
According to the police, there is shrapnel damage in the stairwell.
– We check if anyone is injured. We haven’t had time to go through all the apartments, says police spokesperson Ola Österling.
A witness in the area describes a large blue light streak in Årsta.
– I see six or seven fire engines, five ambulances and I don’t know how many police cars.
– Someone is standing and shining up and down with headlights on the facade and an unusual number of cars are driving on the street. It usually means that the South link has been shut down.
Fire after alarm about explosion
The police have been alerted to an explosion in Fittja, south of Stockholm, according to information given to Aftonbladet.
Heavy smoke is visible at the scene.
The emergency services confirm that a fully developed fire is raging in an apartment in an apartment building.
– According to a caller, the fire was preceded by some kind of explosion, says Patrik Johansson, officer on duty at the rescue centre.
The emergency services have sent 13 cars to the house. Around 20-25 firefighters participate in the work.
– We have started an internal search and extinguishment. There is still a risk of spread to the apartment and attic above, says Patrik Johansson.

One person was found in the house and taken to hospital, the police said.
Six units from the rescue service are working on the scene.
At least 145 missing after boat accident
An overcrowded boat sank in the Lulonga River in northwestern Congo on Thursday night and 145 people are missing according to Congolese authorities, AP writes.
According to local authorities, there is little chance of finding more survivors beyond the 55 that have been rescued so far.
About ten arrested after wave of violence in Stockholm
The police have arrested about ten people during the 24-hour period on Wednesday after the latest wave of violence in Stockholm.
– We have arrested about ten individuals who are believed to have connections to the shootings and explosions during the day of Wednesday alone. Most of those arrested have since been arrested, says Ola Österling, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police.
– We expect to arrest more in the coming days.
The police now state that they are making progress after the acts of violence that shook Stockholm.
– The more we arrest, the more information we get for future investigations. It is a very complex picture of these different networks that emerges.
Grated cheese recalled – may contain listeria
Wernersson cheese is recalling its grated cheese in 500-gram and one-kilo packages. The reason is that the subcontractor discovered during a routine check that the products may contain listeria bacteria, writes TT.
The recall applies to packaging with a best before date of April 24, 2023. Customers who bought the products can return them at the point of purchase or contact Wernersson cheese directly, the company writes in a press release.
The cheese alarm is the second in a short time.
During yesterday, Gäsene dairy announced that it is recalling its 500-gram riv cheese with a best-before date of 2023-03-14.
One injured after a head-on collision
Police, rescue services and an ambulance helicopter have been called to a road in Torsby after a head-on collision between two cars.
At least two people must be involved in the accident, one of whom is injured.
– We are there. The emergency services are trying to free a person from a car right now, says Lars Hedelin, press spokesperson at the police.
It is unclear how the accident occurred.
– They have collided on a straight, so it is a bit unclear what has happened, says Lars Hedelin.
