An explosion occurred in a stairwell in an apartment building in Årsta in southern Stockholm on Thursday evening.
– It is some kind of explosion inside the stairwell itself, not at the gate as it has often been in the past with other explosions. No one should be injured, says Tommy Wållberg, commanding officer at the rescue service, to TT.
Police are working with staff to secure the building while emergency services wait.
– There was faint smoke when we arrived. We have personnel from five fire stations and a special unit on site, says Tommy Wållberg.
The explosion occurred at 10 p.m.
