The facility’s crazy electricity bill – expected to be 70 million

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The electricity bill for the Max IV research facility in Lund is estimated to be SEK 70 million this year. According to the plant’s director Olof Karis, there were earlier plans to shut down the plant due to the high electricity costs.

– Now there is another problem. We are two very large electricity consumers, next to us there is an international plant. The availability of electricity is therefore a problem, he says.

But Lund University has decided that the facility will receive financial support for 2023.

Olof Karis also says that several similar facilities in Europe have had to close due to high electricity costs.
