(Finance) – Still weak signals come from the US housing market in December. According to Department of Commerce US i new construction sites started they recorded a decline of 1.4% to 1.382 million units, after the decrease of 1.8% recorded in November (data revised from -0.5%). Analysts’ expectations had predicted the number of construction sites to drop to 1.359 million.
THE building permits issued by the competent authorities recorded a decrease of 1.6% to 1.330 million units in the same period, after the -10.6% recorded the previous month. Analysts’ expectations were for a rise in permits to 1.370 million.
