In a legislative council referral from the government, a temporary tax is proposed on revenues that exceed SEK 1,957 per megawatt hour (MWh) of electricity produced. The size of the tax is proposed to be 90 percent, writes the government.
The law, which comes at the initiative of the EU, will apply from March 1, 2023 and apply until June 2023.
According to the legal council referral, the state’s revenue from the tax is estimated to be SEK 150 million. In an earlier assessment, the revenue was SEK 280 million.
