Sweden has started the WC in handball in a brilliant way.
On Wednesday they defeated Hungary – and they did it a lot because of the few technical errors.
– I am surprised, says Jim Gottfridsson to Aftonbladet.
Sweden remains undefeated in the handball world championship. On Wednesday, they secured their fourth win in as many games after beating Hungary 37-28.
“God’s” surprise
One of the keys to the Swedish victory was the few technical errors in the match, which were only written to three in number when the match was over. The number got the big star Jim Gottfridsson to amaze.
– Did we only have three? he says in surprise to Aftonbladet.

Gottfridsson continues:
– It is extremely good. With the speed we play with, we buy that we have three or four too many.
Earlier in the tournament, Sweden had an average that was significantly higher, also against worse opposition. There, the average has been ten technical errors per match, which has been consistent during the previous championships that Sweden played.
– I won’t say it’s top world class, but it’s really good against a team like Hungary, says Gottfridsson.

“A little too many”
Gottfridsson was surprised that they succeeded so well in keeping the technical errors down.
– Yes it’s me. I remember I had a pass to Bergendahl (Oscar), but he will catch it.

The national team captain Glenn Solberg however, had a solid grasp of the numbers, but the Norwegian was not happy about it.
– It is impressive and important. We’ve had a bit too many in a few games here now. This shows how well we prepared for this match, he says.
