The entrance and two floors of a business building suffered extensive damage after a powerful explosion in Kista in northwest Stockholm at 04:30 on Wednesday.
According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, the explosion is being investigated as part of a new wave of violence that has broken out in Stockholm. Several murders since last week are linked to the conflict.
According to the police’s theory, the main target for the violent crimes is a young man in Stockholm’s “underworld” who is said to belong to a criminal network in the southern parts of the county.
The man is linked to this morning’s explosion in Kista, the restaurant explosion on Södermalm in Stockholm, a shooting at an apartment in Märsta and at another residence in Järfälla municipality. This is according to TV4 Nyheter’s information.
– The main target is abroad and the crime is aimed at people close to him. The events are seen as wanting to scare and mark, says a source to TV4 Nyheterna.
The designated person is said to have a leading role in the drug trade and has previously been convicted in connection with it. According to the information, the current conflict is believed to be about competition for the drug market in Norrland municipalities.
The Stockholm police now fear that the violent crimes may continue.
– The police are prepared for more crimes and are doing everything to prevent them, says an informant.
A press spokesperson in the Stockholm region does not want to comment on TV4 Nyheten’s information, but says that they are investigating widely.
