A large part of the timber that fell overboard in heavy weather from the ship Oslo Carrier 2 in the sea off Härnösand during the thirteenth weekend has been taken care of by private individuals.
Nevertheless, it is estimated that roughly 2,000 cubic meters of timber in various dimensions remain in huge piles along the coastal strip.
It is now clear how the listed timber will be salvaged – and by whom.
Preparations
It is Höga Kusten Sjöentreprenad AB that was commissioned by the shipping company Dalarö Shipping’s Norwegian insurance company Gard.
– Do you have the information from them? Yes, in that case I can also confirm, says the company’s owner Mikael Danielsson when SVT calls.
When do you start?
– There is a part that must be prepared first. We don’t need to make a new road to get there with our machines, but we need to reinforce the road that is there now. And then we have to prepare the machine needed to do the lifting itself, says Mikael Danielsson.
Difficult to access
– This is a special assignment. Not something we do very often if you say so.
How long do you think the work will take?
– That’s a lot. And a lot of it is difficult to access. It will probably take a month at least, says Mikael Danielsson.
