Last week, Noël Le Graët had to apologize for his condescending comments about Zinedine Zidane and then he was accused of sexual harassment.
It was later revealed when the player’s agent Sonia Souid, in an interview with the newspaper L’Equipe, accused the president of the French Football Federation of inappropriate behavior for several years.
Souid said that Le Graët repeatedly tried to approach her in the years 2013-2017 and that he was only sexually interested in her.
That prompted Patrick Anton, head of the Football Association’s ethical council, to call on Le Graët to leave his post.
Sports Minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra said Le Graët had “damaged the image of our country” and launched an investigation into his actions – leading to his temporary resignation.
Now it is clear that even the prosecutor’s office in Paris has started an investigation into the allegations of sexual harassment.
Noël Le Graët denies the allegations.
