The 54th ministerial meeting of the United Nations Standing Advisory Committee on Security Questions in Central Africa ended on January 16 in Brazzaville. The representatives of the various States present condemned the abuses perpetrated by the rebel groups in the east of the DRC.

In their statement adopted and read in the presence of the press by Vincente Muanda, Angolan Ambassador to Congo-Brazzaville, the members of the United Nations Standing Advisory Committee called in particular for the immediate cessation of all forms of violence, all military activity by any armed group posing a threat to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

At the end of the meeting, Samy Adubango Awotho, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DRC, said he welcomed the latest UN resolution aimed at establishing peace in the region.

Closing the work, Jean-Claude Gakosso, Congolese Minister of Foreign Affairs, invited all the actors to find a lasting solution.

At the end of this 24-hour ministerial meeting, Jean-Claude Gakosso promised that during his tenure as head of the United Nations Standing Advisory Committee, Congo will work for the prosperity and stability of the sub-region. .
