The best German horror film in years has finally been released on DVD and Blu-ray in stylish editions that look particularly chic on the shelf.

Why is the twilight behind the eyes worthwhile?
In Behind the Eyes, a dysfunctional couple decide to stay the night in the run-down castle they recently inherited as time and reality slowly shift. Dieter (Frederik von Lüttichau) and Margot (Luisa Taraz) are confronted with eerie events on site. And then comes a twist that turns everything upside down.

The less you know about the story behind the eyes of the dawn, the better. What follows is an intense psycho trip with violent peaks of violence, which, however, does not lose sight of the emotional state of its heroine. Moviepilot author Jonathan Ederer writes in his recommendation of the film:
Behind the eyes the twilight is a film with a film within a film, playing with his audience. This somewhat weird genre lump turns out to be a gem. It starts out as a haunted house horror film and morphs into a self-critical, self-convoluted meta-piece with beautiful visuals. In the end everything comes together and the film makes one thing clear: In this country you don’t have to hide from American competition like The Witch or Hereditary – The Legacy.
