Google and NVIDIA also opposed Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision-Blizzard. The rationale is that it will gain an unfair advantage in the cloud.

The battle over the acquisition process has been going on for a long time between Sony and Microsoft. Google and NVIDIA are also involved in this situation. Both firms expressed their concerns by testifying at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) last December. The main source of concern for the FTC is that it will reduce competition in the industry by giving Microsoft ownership of games such as Call of Duty, World of Warcraft and Candy Crush.

According to the companies’ opinion, Microsoft is planning to establish an Xbox Mobile Game Store and has started working on it by acquiring both Activision-Blizzard and King.

The firm also opposes it, considering that NVIDIA would gain an unfair advantage over its GeForce Now cloud streaming service.

Although Microsoft constantly denies the allegations, the number of companies that stand against it is increasing day by day. While this leads to new lawsuits, it means that the process is prolonged. According to the agreement, the transfer process must take place by June 2023. However, it seems that the process will continue until a later date in line with these conditions.
