Kulusevski has been out with a minor muscle injury in the back of his thigh recently and has not played since the second day against Brentford. After three missed games, the Swede was back in the game again and was in the home game against Arsenal from the start.
The series leader, who before the game had an eleven-match unbeaten streak, had a big game advantage in the first half and then also scored two goals. After just under a quarter of an hour, Bukayo Saka shot from a tight angle and Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris chipped the ball into his own goal.
In the 36th minute, team captain Martin Ødegaard fired a long shot that found its way into the Tottenham goal. It was the Norwegian’s eighth Premier League goal this season, he leads the team’s internal scoring league ahead of Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, both with seven goals.
Tottenham took over more and more of the game in the second half and Kulusevski was given more to do on his right wing. Among other things, he got in a shot which, however, went a bit wide. Tottenham’s pressure eased without a goal being scored and Arsenal were able to claim their 15th Premier League win of the season and extend their unbeaten run to 12 games.
The distance to second-placed Manchester City is now eight points.
