Several people have been injured and a seven-year-old child has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a shooting in central London, British police said. A twelve-year-old was also treated for a minor leg injury, but has already been allowed to leave the hospital.
The incident took place near a church where a funeral was taking place. According to the police’s initial information, the shots were fired from a moving vehicle which then left the scene.
Another four women were injured in the incident. Three women in their 40s and 50s have not sustained any life-threatening injuries.
At a later stage, a woman in her 20s was also taken to hospital. The police still have no information about her state of health.
The police were called to the scene at half past two local time and are still there to gather information.
No one has been arrested.
