Explosion in gas pipeline between Latvia and Lithuania

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

An explosion occurred on Friday in a pipeline that transports gas between Latvia and Lithuania. The explosion caused the line to catch fire – and pictures show how flames, around 50 meters high, rose into the sky.

Local media write that the nearby village of Valakėliė in Lithuania was evacuated. But no one was injured, according to the gas company.

The gas supply now takes place via another pipe that runs parallel to the damaged one.
