Wall Street turned a sluggish start into a rally today.

The Dow Jones rose 0.3 percent and the Nasdaq composite index closed at plus 0.7 percent.

The S&P 500 index rose by 0.4 percent.

Today’s gains mean that the S&P 500 index has risen 2.7 percent during the week as a whole, TT reports.

Among Friday’s winners were Amazon and Nvidia, which rose 3.0 and 2.4 percent respectively.

Tesla sharply cut the prices of cars in the US and Europe on Friday, but the price cut was not rewarded by the stock market and the stock retreated 0.9 percent.

In Stockholm, things did not go as well as in New York. The OMX30 index closed at minus 0.36 percent.

    The US is preparing a sale of the F16 fighter jet to Turkey.

  • Suspected murder in Eskilstuna
