It’s not just video games that interest Saudi Arabia, japanimation too. Last August, Go Nagai announced to us in front of the camera the launch of Project G, a project aimed at restoring Grendizer (UFO Robo Grendizer for its original name) to center stage. It must be said that the robot knows a great fervor in some countries such as France, Belgium, Spain but also the Middle East. And that, Mohammed bin Salman (the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia) has not forgotten this. Raised in his youth by video games and Japanese culture via his anime, the latter signed an agreement with the Japanese company Dynamic Planning (which belongs to Go Nagai) to revive the hype around the robot that Japan shunned, preferring Mazinger pranks. It is indeed through Manga Productions (his animation company which is none other than a subsidiary of his foundation MiSK) that Grendizer will return soon. For now, we don’t yet know what form this unexpected comeback will take, but Go Nagai’s video allowed us to see some preparatory sketches. According to some rumors, it could well be a new series, Goldorak having more than ever the side, evidenced by the incredible success of the French comic strip published by Kana, and the video game which is currently in development. at Microids.
