Marko Lehtosalo, known under the stage name Markoolio, and his mother Irma are now taking part in their own reality series Marko & Irma. Already in the premiere episode, it becomes deep and emotional when both Marko and Irma tell what it was like when Marko grew up, in a home where there was abuse and violence.
– The mother has often asked for forgiveness for exposing us children to drunkenness and fights, that we got to experience it, says Marko.
Today, mother Irma has been sober for twelve years. In the role of grandmother, she has promised herself one thing and when she tells it in the program, she breaks down in tears.
“Stop saying I’ve always been a good mother”
Marko has previously talked openly about his tough upbringing in interviews.
– Mother kept saying “stop telling the newspapers and the media that I’ve always been a good mother, because I haven’t always been,” he says.
