Pokémon GO kicks off Battle Day with powerful weekend bonuses

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

In Pokémon GO, players can earn decent bonuses over the weekend. The GO fight day invites you to a duel. What does the event bring?

The coming weekend in Pokémon GO is all about the GO Battle League. In the PvP mode, the “GO Battle Day” is held – actually it’s two days where you are supposed to compete with other trainers and their monsters.

When is GO Battle Day? The day of battle begins on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 00:00 local time. It will then run until Sunday, January 15 at 11:59 p.m. local time. This gives you the whole weekend for the event.

How does the fight day work? During the weekend you can complete 20 battle sets per day instead of the usual 5 per day. Each battle set consists of 5 battles.

So there is the possibility to fight 100 fights per day – per day. Super League, Hyper League and Master League will be available.

Of course, that’s a lot of matches, and it could seem uninteresting, especially for players who haven’t been involved in PvP in Pokémon GO yet. But right now at the weekend might be a good time to at least take a look. Because there are good bonuses.

Why the day of battle is worth it – even if you haven’t played PvP yet

A good argument for this weekend’s fight day is that all three leagues will be available. The super league only allows monsters up to 1,500 WP, the hyper league up to 2,500 and the master league has no limit. For comparison: Only the Master League and the ML Premier Classic are running until the day of the fight.

So you are free to choose which class you want to try your hand at and you can build teams from the monsters you have – whether weak or strong. There are also bonuses available.

These are the bonuses: For every win during the event, you will get four times the amount of Stardust. You can always use it to level up your monsters or teach them new attacks. A good opportunity to gather dust.

There will also be a Timed Research during the weekend that will bring bonuses.

These include:

  • EP
  • special candies
  • A top loading TM
  • Troy Trumm style rings for your avatar. Troy Trumm is the champ from the games Ruby & Sapphire.
  • The research could help with the upgrade of your own trainer level through the EP and also brings special candies and at least once the possibility to secure a strong attack through the Top-Charging TM.

There is also the Timed GO Battle League Research off the day of battle, for which you can pick up a free ticket in the shop anyway. This rewards you with extra stardust for every 10 battles won.

If you are generally not a fan of PvP, you may not be convinced by the bonuses either. But if you’ve always thought about taking a closer look at the mode, then this weekend is a good time.

By the way, an interesting mistake made the rounds recently: players fought in the PvP league and got individual victories, but were suddenly credited with victories in the three-digit range.
