Damaged file caused flight stoppage in the US

today at 06.21 Johanna Sundbeck

On Wednesday, the US aviation authority FAA was forced to cancel all flight departures in the country due to a widespread system failure in Notams. It provides pilots with warnings and important information.

The FAA says the disruptions must have been caused by an error in a single file, reports NBC News.

“In our preliminary work, we have been able to trace the error to a damaged database file. At this time, there is no evidence of a cyber attack,” they write in a statement.
