In Destiny 2, support resumes its work, bringing the first downtime in 2023. Because of that, today is comingon January 11th an update to the game. We’ll tell you when the servers on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC and Google Stadia will go offline and why part of this Hotfix 6.3.0.3 will please many players.

What you need to know today: At Bungie, the support routine is officially returning today, so players can expect the first update of the new year. Hotfix 6.3.0.3 is coming up and Bungie has planned an important Quality of Life change in the update that will make many players happy.

However, the update also means that you will face a small downtime tonight during which you will not be able to gamble. MeinMMO will accompany you during the update and update this article with fresh information. So you don’t miss anything.

Update history to Hotfix 6.3.0.3:

19:30 o’clock: Bungie has released the patch notes for the update. You can find them further down in the article.

6:10 p.m.: The servers are back online with a slight delay. Hotfix 6.3.0.3 is rolling out and you can start the download. On PC this is 133.7 MB in size.

5:45 p.m.: The Destiny 2 servers are now offline. You now have 15 minutes for a gaming break.

17:00 o’clock: Background maintenance has just started on Destiny 2. You now have 45 minutes to complete your ongoing activities before the Destiny 2 servers go offline for 15 minutes.

Immediately after the update, players can jump back into the activities of the Season of the Seraph and find out how to tactically thwart Xivu Arath’s plans without playing into her hands.

Update 6.3.0.3 on 11.01. – All times and server down

For each update, Bungie announces downtimes when players cannot gamble. We offer you this information in our article with the German times. So you can plan your gaming evening well.

All times at a glance:

  • At 5:00 p.m. German time, maintenance work will start in the background on all platforms.
  • From 5:45 p.m. the servers will go offline and you will be automatically kicked out of all activities.
  • The servers are scheduled to come back online around 6:00 p.m. and update 6.3.0.3 will be rolled out for all platforms. After the download you can log back into the game.
  • Continuous background maintenance will then officially end at 7:00 p.m. if everything goes smoothly.

    • Important: Even if you have downloaded the update and are back in-game, you may experience connection issues until the end of maintenance at 7:00 p.m. You may also have to expect queues when logging in.

    Also, keep in mind that third-party applications and the official companion app may not be properly accessible for a while after the update.

    Note for all Stadia users: On January 18, 2023, Stadia will be shut down and players will lose access to their Destiny 2 characters. If you want to avoid this, you have to set up Cross Save on another platform by then. Bungie has made sure that it will allow players to use their characters on linked platforms even after Stadia has closed.

    This changes with Update 6.3.0.3 in Season 19

    Since there was no “This Week at Bungie” blog over the holidays, not much information on long-term planned changes is known at this time. However, Bungie has made a few advance announcements and may also address a few legacy issues and new bugs directly in the first update.

    Bungie has already made this advance notice of a change:

  • Armor mods will be immediately available to every player after today’s update. This means that no one has to wait until mods can finally be purchased from the NPC dealers in the rotation. Thanks to this change, everyone can use it immediately and directly for their builds – without restrictions.

    • Destiny 2 solves the biggest problem new players face today – just in time for the next big expansion

    Current list of currently known issues:

  • When starting the game, some players get the error code “Centipede”. Only after the second start can you log into the game normally.
  • On the Europa and Mars Raid Battlegrounds map, enemies may suddenly simply spawn when players enter certain areas.
  • On some PCs, using Alt-Tab to bring up the desktop while playing in full screen mode may cause the game to freeze and require a game restart.
  • The Hierarchy of Claims exotic dungeon arc does not properly penetrate Hydra or Phalanx shields when combined with the Piercing Bowstring artifact armor mod.
  • The charge flag sometimes doesn’t work in the second encounter of the Wellspring activity.
  • Players on Xbox One consoles cannot join with other players from the Fireteams game unless they are in the same bubble.
  • Player name changes are not customizable through bungie.net. Players are still waiting for the option to change their player name multiple times instead of just once.
  • The Exotic Scout Rifle “Jade Rabbit” is currently disabled because its Exotic effect could also be transferred to other weapons to deal headshot damage on body hits.
