The first big games of this month of January 2023 are starting to come out and the one that takes the lead is One Piece Odyssey, which will be released in two days on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, PS4 and Xbox One. However, the press is authorized to publish its final opinion and a small tour on Metacritic allows us to have an overview of what the journalists thought of the game. If the title of Bandai Namco Entertainment comes out with an honorable 75% overall average, in detail, we see that the opinions are quite mixed, with ratings that can go down to 4/10 for CGMagazine and Gamekult. What is criticized in the bad points is a redundancy in the adventure, with an unexciting story and fights that lack punch. It must be said that by opting for turn-based, the developers would necessarily minimize the combat aspect, despite a staging to energize everything. The graphics are also sharp, with a rendering that is not worthy of appearing on either next gen consoles or old gen. On the other hand, what has more to the testers, it is a nice immersion in the universe of Oda, a certain tactical sense and the fact that it is a nice introduction to manga and anime.
