What are the differences between the Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro?
The Xiaomi 13 has a 6.36 inch OLED flat screen with 1.61 mm thick bezels and a width of 71.5 mm while the Pro version has a 6.73 inch screen, the design of the screens is also different, the version standard features a straight frame and the Pro version features a hyperboloid design. Both Xiaomi are equipped with the Android 13 operating system and IP68 protection. The refresh rate of the Xiaomi 13 is 120 fixed, on the other hand, the Pro including HTPO technology has a refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120 Hz. The Xiaomi 13 is equipped with a Full HD display (1080p) and the Xiaomi 13 Pro with a Quad HD (2K) display. Both versions have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. The standard Xiaomi 13 is equipped with a glass back cover, valid in four colors (black, white, green, and sky blue). The Pro model, on the other hand, has a ceramic back cover valid in the same 4 colors mentioned. Basically, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is heavier and sturdier than the standard model.
What’s new on the Xiaomi 13?
The first novelty concerning the Xiaomi 13 is in terms of its power. It is important for a manufacturer to offer a more powerful version each year than its previous smartphone, and Xiaomi is no exception. The firm has equipped the two Xiaomi 13 with a latest generation processor. That’s good, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip is equipped on the new Xiaomi 13, or at least the basic and Pro versions.
In particular, there is a change in the design of the Xiaomi 13. The face of the telephone is very flat with a 2.5D screen with a 1.5K definition (2712 x 1220 pixels). The 32MP selfie camera sits in the center of the front screen. The edges of the phone have also been flattened. Unlike theiPhone, the rear window includes a slight curve on the edges, designed to facilitate handling. The dimensions of the phone are 152.8 x 71.5 x 8.3mm and the camera bump constitutes 10.3mm thick.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro relies heavily on the photo part by equipping itself with no less than three sensors. The latter include a wide-angle, an ultra-wide-angle, while the latter might just be a telephoto lens capable of shooting long-distance shots.
Xiaomi is still one of the kings in a very specific segment: charging. The Xiaomi 13 are compatible with 120W fast charging. They follow in the footsteps of the previous Xiaomi 12 Pro which was able to fully recharge in just twenty minutes!
At what price is the Xiaomi 13?
The Xiaomi 13 with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage is available in China at a price of 3999 yuan (543 euros). While the Xiaomi Pro has an initial price of 4997 yuan (679 euros), the price rises depending on the capabilities of the smartphone. However, it will be necessary to expect significantly higher prices in Europe because of the various compulsory taxes on telephones. As a reminder, the Xiaomi 12 was marketed in France from 899 euros.
