Milk, cheese and eggs considerably more expensive: inflation last year around 10 percent

Milk cheese and eggs considerably more expensive inflation last year

Almost half of last year’s high inflation is due to the price development of energy, such as electricity, gas and district heating. Energy was on average 114 percent more expensive than in 2021. Consumers spent 10.8 percent more on food. The rise in food prices was mainly caused by meat, dairy products, bread and grains, and vegetables. We pay full price for milk, cheese and eggs, prices of which sometimes rose by up to 28 percent.
