Frida Karlsson went all out and won the Tour de Ski.
Now she has landed on Swedish soil again and tells the truth about the nasty collapse.

The race itself on Sunday was not particularly dramatic when Frida Karlsson could win the overall victory in the Tour de Ski by a very good margin. But what unfolded after the finish line had everyone holding their breath.
Frida’s collapse
Karlsson fell after the finish and fell to the ground in a really nasty collapse. The uncertainty was great for her well-being and she had to be carried away on a stretcher.

After great concern and much-needed medical help, Frida managed to recover and regain consciousness. But the Swede was completely missing when it was time for the award ceremony and received his well-deserved trophy several hours later.

Honest words
Now the 23-year-old has landed on Swedish soil again and tells what actually happened at the end of the big climb in the Tour de Ski decider.
– I feel good today. A bit worn out, I guess you could say that I am. But you have to be after a tour, says Karlsson to Radiosporten and remembers back to Sunday’s race.
– It’s really the end that’s a little off. First it’s the arms and legs that start to disappear and then the head at the end. I woke up in some room there and then I’m pretty clear from it.

Apart from the unpleasantness, Karlsson is extremely proud to have won the Tour de Ski. It has long been a childhood dream actually.
– Super large. The tour was the first thing you watched on TV and the big dream as a child and now I’m standing here, so it feels cool. I haven’t had time to fully digest it yet, I’m pretty tired so far. But it will sink in, she says in the interview, even though she missed the award ceremony itself.
– It was boring, of course, I have to get revenge on the podium next year.
