It was a Monday again after all the weekends. And now it’s ox weeks until Easter.
– It’s going to be long weeks, you get a little tired, especially when it’s dark outside – then it feels even heavier, says Josefin Nilsson
The term has moved around a bit in the calendar, but today usually refers specifically to the winter months where jobs and jobs come first, yes for those who have. And if it’s any consolation, we’re far from first.
– The concept has been known since the 18th century or so. The ox was, after all, a very important draft animal in farming society. That is the likely explanation, that it was who you had to work with when you did the rough work. It has not been a problem, it has been obvious, says Mats Nilsson, docent in ethnology at the University of Gothenburg.
Mattias Åhlund sees it on the bright side.
– I think it will be fun, I like working. It’s a good everyday life.
