The Sweden Democrats in Borås propose in a motion that the municipality’s politicians should report how they themselves affect the climate.

How many flights you take, which vehicle you own, and whether you are a vegetarian – these are information that SD believes the local politicians should report on the municipality’s website.

– We are trying to create a tool for the elected officials to live as they teach, says opposition councilor Andreas Exner (SD) to Göteborgs-Posten.

At the same time, the party wants to end Borås municipality’s work with a carbon dioxide budget, which was introduced after a decision in 2019. Exner regards the budget as a symbolic policy, and would rather see more direct measures, according to GP.

Borås is governed by a central collaboration that includes S, C, L and MP. The coalition has not yet decided how to respond to SD’s motion.
