Frida Karlsson went all out and won the Tour de Ski.
But immediately after the successful race, she collapsed at the finish line.
And was forced to leave the area on a stretcher along with harrowing images on her.
It became new Swedish sports history when Frida Karlsson won the Tour de Ski on Sunday in Alpe Cemis. The 23-year-old became the first Swede to win the minitour in 15 long years after Charlotte Kallas great achievement in 2008.
Frida’s collapse
Karlsson really pushed himself hard in the last monster hill and then collapsed right after the finish. Nasty scenes unfolded at the finish line when the Swede needed immediate medical help.
– You could see that Frida was noticeably pumped up in the final part of the race. but also when she enters the goal and completely falls over the goal, says the Viaplay presenter Johanna Ojala in the broadcast.

Both doctors and police were present when Frida had to leave the area on a stretcher. And the uncertainty is great for how the 23-year-old feels after the scary pictures of her.
– It feels shocking to follow this drama unfolding. and you almost forget that Frida won the Tour de ski and wonder more about how she is, says the expert Johan Olsson in Viaplay’s studio.
– It’s a lump in the stomach for her health.

Conscious
National teammates Moa Ilar and Anna Dyvik also did his best to help and protect Frida Karlsson by turning away the television cameras. Now we are just waiting for the first reports on the Swede’s health.
