Unsurprisingly, PSG, leader in the Ligue 1 standings, beat the Châteauroux team, which plays in National (3-1). In another match between two teams at the bottom of the Ligue 1 standings, Angers won against Strasbourg after a penalty shootout (0-0, 4 Tab 5). Finally, Paris FC won against Valenciennes (3-1), in a match between two Ligue 2 teams.
If there was good football to see on Friday, most of the matches take place on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 January. Among the expected matches, there is in particular the meeting between Bordeaux (Ligue 2) and Rennes (Ligue 1), scheduled for 8:45 p.m. this Saturday. Earlier in the day, Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1) should not have too much trouble defeating the Hyères team (National 2). The meeting is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Sunday, the big match of the evening, which will kick off at 8:45 p.m., will oppose Lille (Ligue 1) to Troyes (Ligue 1).
Last year was the FC Nantes who had won the 2021-2022 edition of the Coupe de France, winning the final against OGC Nice (1-0). This final, the first to be refereed by a woman, Stéphanie Frappart, was marked by controversy over the referee’s decisions.
