The Swedes off the podium after sprint drama

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Halfvarsson is still second ahead of the final climb, one minute and two seconds behind Klæbo. This despite the fact that the Swede did not manage to follow up the second place from Friday’s sprint with another podium place.

The 33-year-old finished fifth in the mass start over 15 kilometers, but it was close to being able to do better than that.

The tight pack was a wasp’s nest throughout the race and Halfvarsson entered the race fighting for a podium place. But it didn’t go all the way and the Swede came in fifth.

William Poromaa was also up and sniffing, but the 22-year-old finished sixth. However, it is something of a revenge for Poromaa, who was disqualified in the sprint after double infringements. He also received a three minute added time.

First across the finish line was – as usual – Johannes Høsflot Klæbo. The Norwegian dominant was strongest in the race and crossed the finish line first and thus he has won all six Tour de Ski stages. It also means that the Norwegian beats Russian Sergej Ustyugov’s record for number of consecutive tour victories from the 2016/2017 season.

Pål Golberg was second and Francesco De Fabiani came in third.
