According to the new information, it is revealed that the players who use the PlayStation 5 upright have serious problems with their devices.
When PlayStation 5 went on sale, it was marketed by stating that it could be used in two different positions, horizontally and vertically. However, the reports reveal that serious hardware problems occur when the product is used in an upright position.
If you use the PlayStation 5 upright, the liquid metal used for cooling may leak.
According to the problem revealed by Ben Montana, owner of private repair shop ILoveMyConsole in France, he witnessed that the liquid metal used to cool the device’s APU dried out due to overheating and spilled or leaked. This factor, which affects the cooling of the device, causes permanent damage over time. According to Montana, the risk is high for PS5s that stand vertically for a long time, and he points out that this can occur in all models.

A few cases have revealed that the seal between the PS5’s APU and heatsink can sometimes move or become damaged. If your PS5 is in a horizontal position, there is no flow of liquid metal, while in an upright position there is a possibility of liquid metal flowing down. This affects the cooling conditions of the device and also reveals the possibility of flowing onto other components. For this reason, keeping your device in bed position will be enough to prevent the problem.
