The deal was announced in September and is worth the equivalent of around SEK 11 billion.
“This acquisition advances the strategic direction, accelerates revenue growth, and builds market share in renewable packaging solutions in Europe,” says Annica Bresky, president and CEO of Stora Enso, in the press release.
The acquisition is seen by Stora Enso as a gateway to the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Great Britain. The purchase increases Stora Enso’s capacity for the production of corrugated board from approximately 1,200 to over 2,000 million square meters. It is considered to strengthen the position in terms of packaging for fresh food, e-commerce and industry.
De Jong’s turnover for the full year 2022 is estimated at one billion euros.
