The unilateral ceasefire Putin declared in Ukraine in honor of the Russian Orthodox Christmas comes into force at 10am Swedish time on Friday.
It is supposed to be valid for 36 hours but has been met with great skepticism and Ukraine is preparing for further fighting.
On Saturday, a new arms delivery from the US is expected, including tens of armored vehicles that Ukraine has requested. Even the outside world is skeptical of the ceasefire.
