Prince William “knocked me to the floor,” Prince Harry writes in his upcoming autobiography. Prince William is also said to have called his brother’s wife “difficult”.
The quarrel is said to have occurred at Prince Harry’s home in London in 2019, writes The Guardian, which has learned this detail ahead of the book’s release. The book describes how Prince William visited his little brother to discuss their relationship with each other and their relationship with the media. Then Prince William is said to have called Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s wife, too difficult, unpleasant and “nasty”.
Prince Harry then allegedly accused Prince William of only relating to the media’s image of Meghan, as well as of acting as a privileged heir. Harry is also said to have said that William showed no understanding that he felt overlooked.
Prince Harry also writes that the fight escalated and that Prince William eventually grabbed his collar, tore his necklace, and knocked him down after fleeing to the kitchen, according to the newspaper. According to himself, he suffered bruises and cuts on his back after landing on the dog’s water bowl.
After the fight, Prince William must have looked contrite, apologized and left the house, the book says.
Prince Harry married actor Meghan Markle in 2018, and they were named Duke and Duchess of Sussex. In 2020, they made the decision to distance themselves from the British royal house and move to North America. The following year they cut ties altogether. The couple has subsequently both released a documentary and written autobiographies about their lives.
