Do you want to manage Steam game data on your PC or move it to another hard drive? Then it is best to use the memory management. Here you get instructions on how to find the function, move data and add new data carriers.

Here’s how to find Steam Storage Manager:

  • Step 1: Open the Steam client
  • Step 2: Click on “Steam” in the top left
  • Step 3: Select Settings, now a window will open
  • Step 4: Click on Downloads there
  • Step 5: Click on the “Steam Library Folder” button
  • This will open the Steam Storage Manager. You can see how big your installed games are and where they were saved. On top of that, you will receive information about when you last played the games.

This is how you can move your Steam games

You have to select the game in the memory manager that you want to move. Then you click on “Move” in the lower right corner and select the target drive to which you want to move the game data.

This is how you add a new location

How do I add a new hard drive? If you don’t already see the hard drive you want to drag the data to in the Disk Space Manager bar, you can add it:

  • Step 1: Click on the plus next to your displayed disks
  • Step 2: In the window you can select your available storage locations
  • Step 3: Then go to “Add”
  • You have now added another storage location for your Steam games.

You can create new Steam library folders

A little hint: You can also remove the disks again by selecting it, clicking on the 3 dots and then going to “Remove disk”.

What else can be done about disk space management? Steam games that you no longer want on your hard drive can also be uninstalled via memory management.

To do this, select the appropriate game in the memory management and click on the “Uninstall” button at the bottom right of the window.

Here you will find instructions on how to find out your Steam ID.
