Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

In February 2023, the worldwide Hoenn tour is a big event in Pokémon GO. We collect the most important information about the content.

What is this event? After Kanto and Johto, it’s now the turn of the third region: As in previous years, Pokémon GO is organizing a “tour” event. This time the focus is on the “Hoenn” region.

This year there are two variants of the tour:

In this article, we take a look at the contents of the Hoenn worldwide tour.

Global Hoenn Tour in Pokémon GO – times and content

When is the worldwide Hoenn tour? The Hoenn Tour runs on February 25 and 26, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time.

Is there a ticket? That’s to be expected, at least that was the case on the past Johto and Kanto tours. So far, however, only details for the on-site event in Las Vegas are known, a ticket for the worldwide tour has not yet been presented.

As more information becomes available in this regard, this article will be updated.

This content is known: Some features of the GO-Tour Hoenn have already been presented. We summarize them here.

Special research related to Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre

This is the research: The event will bring a special research called “Legend Hunt” in which Professor Willow and Rhi will send players in search of the “Red Gem” and the “Blue Gem”.

These gems are related to the new forms of the legendary Hoenn Pokémon: Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre.

Both monsters will be encountered during the GO Tour. They will also feature in the new “Proto-Raids”.

Since Groudon and Kyogre can both be shiny, you can also get the proto forms in shiny – Here’s what they look like:

Choose a side – ruby or sapphire

Two possibilities: During the GO Tour you can choose one of two variants: Ruby or Sapphire.

Depending on the decision, you will get a respective medal and certain event features will differ. However, there are no exact details yet.

New masterwork research with Shiny Jirachi

This is Masterwork Research: After Mew and Celebi in Kanto and Johto, the mysterious Pokémon Jirachi now gets a Masterwork Research. In the course of this research, you will be able to get the dazzling version of the monster.

The past Masterwork research was long and not easy to solve. Niantic announced that there will be two versions of the research:

  • A variant for Las Vegas event ticketed players where Jirachi spawns after fewer research steps
  • A global variant for everyone that is longer
  • Spawns in various habitats, raids and field research

What monsters spawn? The monsters of the Hoenn region, i.e. the third generation, will be the focus. It can be assumed that almost all monsters of the generation will be available – However, there is a special case with the notoriously missing Kecleon, which is not yet entirely clear.

New shinys: It is already clear that there will be new shiny debuts for the following monsters:

    GO Tour Rotating Habitats: Hoenn

These are habitats: Participants of previous tours or GO festivals know the principle: The habitats in the game change every hour, i.e. living spaces that will bring different monsters. Some spawns are already known.

Pokemon marked with asterisks* can be Shiny.

  • Habitat Glowing Sands: Flemmli*, Nincada*, Tuska*, Kidwurm* and other Pokémon
  • Habitat Green Earth: Geckarbor*, Wurmple*, Mabbler*, Gulpuck*, and other Pokémon
  • Habitat Eldritch Mist: Walker*, Meditie*, Palimpalim*, Absol*, and other Pokémon
  • Habitat Historic Coast: Hydropi*, Lilyep*, Bassschwal*, Perlu*, and other Pokémon
  • Pokemon in Raids & Eggs on the GO Tour

    These monsters are in raids:

Which monsters bring the eggs? There will be an adjusted egg pool during the event. In the eggs you will find the following Pokémon:

  • 2km Eggs: Pichu*, Fluffeluff*, Geckarbor*, Flemmli*, Hydropi*, Azurill*, and Isso*
  • 5km Eggs: Goblin*, Gulpuck*, and Tuska*
  • 7km Eggs: Knacklion*, Bassschwal*, Kidworm*, and Tanhel*
  • 10km Eggs: Qurtel*, Tropius*, and Relicanth*
  • What does the field research bring to the global GO tour?

This is in the research: In the field research for the global GO tour, there should be ghost Pokémon, but also mega energy.

It is conceivable that you could get mega energy for the starters Lohgock, Sumpex and Gewaldro here. It was there for the first time on Hoenn Raid Day, but since then there has been no way to get more mega energy for the three via raids or tasks.

On the raid day, it was also said that the mega energy for the 3 monsters would only be available again for the Hoenn tour. So it’s quite possible that the field research here will bring mega energies.

Is there more content? So far, only other content for the on-site event in Las Vegas is known. Expect more details on the Hoenn global tour to be released in the run-up to the event. As soon as the time comes, we will keep you posted here.
