his return to the Assembly postponed

After his conviction in mid-December, the deputy for the North Adrien Quatennens had indicated that he wanted to return to the Assembly in early 2023. But according to information from Figaro, health concerns could change the situation.

[Mis à jour le 4 janvier 2023 à 19h55] The return of Adrien Quatennens to the benches of the National Assembly, hoped for at the start of the year by the deputy from the North himself, would be compromised. In any case, this is what reports this Wednesday, January 4, 2023 Le Figaro. According to the daily, Adrien Quatennens would indeed consider postponing his big return “by at least ten additional days”. “Some health concerns just detected, requiring additional examinations” are mentioned by his lawyer Me Jade Dousselin, whose Le Figaro echoes. The daily indicates that the said additional examinations are scheduled for the week of January 9 and that their results will influence the choice of the date of return of Adrien Quatennens in the hemicycle.

“I will probably return in January when parliamentary work resumes”, had initially announced, Wednesday, December 14, the deputy of the North, at the microphone of BFM TV, the day after his conviction for domestic violence and his “temporary radiation ” of the group La France insoumise, scheduled for four months. As a reminder, Adrien Quatennens was given a four-month suspended prison sentence for “violence without incapacity committed by a spouse” between October and December 2021 and for “regular and malicious sending of messages” to his wife, between August and September 2022. The member for the North had moreover publicly admitted, on September 18, in a statement posted on Twitter, having “slapped” his wife, with whom he is in divorce proceedings. Last December, Adrien Quatennens was also ordered to pay 2,000 euros in damages for non-pecuniary damage to his wife.
