Representing the future for Volkswagen Passat, “ID.7” was unveiled in camouflage within the scope of CES 2023.
The electric car family shaped by Volkswagen under the “ID” badge has not yet entered Turkey. In the European and especially the Far East market, we have witnessed step by step the creation of a very wide range in the past few years. This adventure, which will start in Turkey with ID.4 in 2023, was inevitable, as well as its benefits. The goodbyes to the production of iconic models, which we have seen in other manufacturers, also hit the Passat on this front. The complementary element of the concrete steps starting from the sedan body type in the preparations for the farewell to production for Volkswagen Passat has been “ID. It stood before us as an aero” concept. With the opening of the doors of CES 2023, it has been announced that this car, which we can see as the “electric Passat”, will be moved to mass production under the name “ID.7”. In this announcement, some important technical details are officially on the table.

The ID, which was first launched last June, before the official data for ID.7 shared today. It is useful to remember the qualities on aero. The fact that the car had a successful friction coefficient of 0.23 cd was among the first important details that remained in our minds. It was shared that the concept could reach a range of up to 620 kilometers with this character, which also makes a significant contribution to efficiency in the range focus. On the ID.7 front, which stands in front of us today with a dense camouflage, it is definitely noteworthy that the expectations on the range side have been increased to 700 kilometers. On the battery pack side, expectations for a maximum capacity of 77 kWh continue without loss. It is also among the plans to offer the model with a single electric motor in the normal versions and with a double electric motor in the GTX package.

One of the important numerical data that appears on the table for ID.7 is on the size side. When the model, which will be built on the MEB platform, is moved to mass production; It has been announced that it will have a length of 4,940, a width of 1,859 millimeters, a height of 1,529 millimeters and a wheelbase of 2,969 millimeters. This means that there will be a significant improvement in the length and wheelbase from the dynamics we know of the Passat. We can also say that we will feel a radical difference in the interior living space for the ID.7. The model is also positioned ahead of its direct competitor, the Hyundai Ioniq 6. In the visuals shared by Cockpit, the 15-inch multimedia panel in the console of ID.7 will also stand out among the elements that will be reflected in mass production. Volkswagen ID.7, which will be presented with all its details ready for mass production this year, will be produced at the brand’s Emden facilities in Germany. The vehicle is planned to enter the lists of Turkey in 2024.
