Although the next winter sales 2023 are scheduled for a few days from now, some departments already have some offers! Residents of Moselle, Meuse, Vosges and Meurthe-et-Moselle can already take advantage of the many promotions offered as part of the winter sales.

The 2023 winter sales will officially start from Wednesday January 11 in a majority of French departments. However, this date does not apply to the whole territory, and the start of promotions may arrive earlier than you imagine depending on your location. What is the date of the next sales?

The next sales to come are the winter sales. They will be held from Wednesday, January 11, 8 a.m., and will end on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. And for good reason, the rule is fixed. Each year, the winter sales begin at 8 a.m. on the second Wednesday of January, “unless it falls after the 12th”, specifies the site enterprises.gouv.fr. If this is the case, “the sales start on the first Wednesday of January”.

Note that these first dates of the 2023 sales concern a majority of French departments. However, some regions have staggered dates! This is particularly the case for the departments of Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, Moselle and Vosges (whose sales have already started) as well as the overseas territories.

The dates of the 2023 sales are not chosen at random. They are now organized over four weeks (compared to six previously). This new duration of the sales results from the Pacte Law put in place at the end of 2019. The final duration, as well as the dates of the sales, however, remain established by the Minister for the Economy. The shortening of the duration of the 2023 sales, however, makes it possible to further concentrate the various promotions.

Each sales period has its own rules to set its dates. Thus, the winter sales generally take place from the second Wednesday of January. The summer sales are held on the last Wednesday of June.

If the dates of the 2023 sales are established for a large majority of French territory, some regions have exceptions! Although many Parisian consumers worry about the exact date of the sales each year, this corresponds to that of the majority of other French departments. The winter sales 2023 in Paris will therefore take place from next January 11.

What is the date of the 2023 sales in Moselle?

Moselle is one of the departments for which the dates of the 2023 sales are offset from the other departments. Alongside the Meurthe-et-Moselle, the Meuse, and the Vosges, the department benefits from specific dates for the winter sales periods. They stand like this from January 2, 2023 to January 29, 2023.
