Summer and winter alike, blush fueled everyone’s obsessions this year, to the point of becoming a must-have make-up essential. But at the dawn of 2023, it is a most original trend that is rising on the social network: white blush. An inspiration straight from the Land of the Rising Sun, intended to sculpt the face in the most “natural” way possible.
Exit the lipstick, eye shadows and other highlighters, it is the blush which this year dominated the trends in make-up. Whether for the inverted make-up technique, for “crying make-up”, to camouflage dark circles or to reproduce the sunburn effect, blush has clearly distinguished itself on TikTok, becoming the favorite product of beauty addicts. . And it’s not over.
After exploiting all the possibilities of the most famous pink blush, users are now turning to white blush. The latter would afford an even more natural beauty.
White blush: a not-so-new beauty trend?
Professional makeup artist Chiao Li Hsu is responsible for this beauty trend, highlighted on Instagram in… 2019. But TikTok users recently decided to bring it up to date, and hoist it – to the passage – at the top of the make-up trends of this end of the year. Inspired by Japanese beauty treatments, this trend simply consists of swapping your classic blush for an immaculate, almost icy white blush to enhance the cheekbones and sculpt the face.
This beauty tip does not require you to be a makeup professional, but simply to know how to apply a blush. It is a question of swapping the classic pink for a more neutral white, to avoid weighing down the make-up, and to give a boost to the complexion. There is no longer any question here of displaying a good-looking effect, but of making the complexion fresher and more luminous, while refining the face. Incredible, but (obviously) true. A technique that is part of a broader trend, that of “I’m Cold” make-up, a seasonal beauty treatment that would aim for a flawless complexion. Always in the idea of being made up without seeming to be.
An ideal trend for fair skin
Still, this trend, which is spreading at high speed on the Chinese social network, is not as accessible as it seems. If it is easy to reproduce, it is still necessary to find the said product to achieve its ends. This one is not as democratized as its pink or peach counterparts.
Another downside, this trend seems ideal for the lightest skin tones, but much less so for the darkest skin. Some risked it, but without obtaining the expected result. To overcome this problem, it is possible to bet on a gold shade, or a subtly golden pink, which will be perfect as a bonus at this time of year.
