Antitrust fines Unieuro and Monclick for unfair commercial practices

(Tiper Stock Exchange) – The Antitrust has inflicted a fine of 3 million ad Unieuro and 1.2 million to Monclick for unfair business practices. This is what emerges from the AGCM’s weekly bulletin.

The Authority challenged the two companies the omitted or misleading indication of the availability of the products in the promotion of online sales, when instead the goods presented as available were not physically present in the Company’s warehouses.

TO Monclick was also contested failure to indicate that you are dropshipping together with the inaccurate information disseminated in the “About Us” web section, aimed at making consumers believe that Monclick had its own warehouses, the incorrect ways of managing the online sales processwith specific regard to the immediate debit of payment and/or the blocking of the ceiling at the time of the online order and the omitted/misleading presentation of delivery times of products purchased online.

The second unfair practice contested by the Authority concerns the phase following the online purchase and in particular the delayed/non-delivery of products sold on the Sites and already paid for by consumers, the omission of information relating to the tracking and shipping status of the orders, the obstacle to the exercise of the rights of withdrawal and/or reimbursement of consumers and the omitted/inadequate provision of the after-sales assistance service.
