New Year’s Eve became a nightmare for horse owner Klara Karlsson in Nosaby outside Kristianstad. Although a series of measures were taken to protect the horses in the stable against the fireworks at midnight, the firecrackers were too much for one of the horses. The pregnant broodmare Cornetta, which Klara Karlsson owns with her mother and neighbor Elin Jonsson, was so stressed and injured when she panicked that they had to euthanize her.
