Shortly after 03:00 on Monday morning, the police and emergency services were called to Grimsta in western Stockholm after an explosion, which caused extensive damage to a gate to an apartment building.
Great police effort
There is currently a large police operation in western Stockholm. Bomb technicians and forensic technicians have been ordered to the scene and the police have started a preliminary investigation into public destruction.
– There is a hunt for perpetrators, but we have no detainees, says Ola Österling at the police.
On Saturday evening, a man in his 20s was shot dead in the area.
– One theory is that it is a continuation of the New Year’s Eve shooting. But we don’t lock ourselves into that, says Ola Österling.
Another explosion
Just before 04.30 an explosion occurred in a stairwell in Bagarmossen in southern Stockholm with shrapnel damage as a result.
– It was a minor explosion and no one is physically injured, but we have an operation in Bagarmossen and southern Stockholm, says Ola Österling.
Recently, there have been several explosions and shootings in Stockholm.
