A bus with about 40 people on board has driven into the ditch on national highway 62 in Torsby municipality in northern Värmland. Police, ambulance and rescue services are on site.
– According to initial information, eight or nine people have been injured, says Jan Matèrne, officer on duty at the police, to TT.
Two of these are seriously injured and have been taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter.
The road conditions are described as very slippery and a sand truck has been called to the scene. How the accident occurred is not yet clear.
– There is information that other vehicles were involved, but it is unclear whether that is true or not, Jan Matèrne.
The alarm came at 10.30 on New Year’s Day.
