Researchers at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) examined the autopsy results of 44 people with an average age of 62.5 years, some of whom had additional diseases and died due to Kovid-19.
Autopsies were performed on the bodies of these people, all of whom had not been vaccinated against Kovid-19, between April 2020 and March 2021.
Examining blood samples from the corpses, researchers detected the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes Kovid-19, in the blood plasma of 38 corpses.
The researchers concluded that SARS-CoV-2 was not detected in the blood plasma of 3 corpses, while the remaining 3 did not have blood plasma.
On the other hand, the researchers detected RNA in different parts or fluids of the corpses.
In the study, extensive samples were taken from the nervous system tissues of 11 of the corpses.
SARS-CoV-2 RNA was detected in the hypothalamus and cerebellum in one of the bodies, and in the spinal cord and basal ganglia in both.
On the other hand, it was concluded that the damage to the brain by the SARS-CoV-2 RNAs found was “less”.
VIRUS REPLACES IN MANY AREAS NOT RELATED TO RESPIRATORY
Meanwhile, in the research, it was also confirmed that Kovid-19 first damaged the respiratory tract and lung tissue.
Researchers stated that in the first two weeks of Kovid-19 symptoms, the virus multiplies in many regions that are not related to breathing.
The results of the research were published in the journal “Nature”.
