Twitch: MontanaBlack wants to conquer the game that drives him mad while staying calm

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

At the end of the year, Twitch streamer Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris (34) wanted to get it right again and faced a game that had already driven him mad months ago. This time, however, he tried to hold back.

What kind of game is this? In his December 29th stream, MontanaBlack played the platformer game ALTF4. In the game you control a knight who has to overcome a course of nasty traps.

Everything in ALTF4 is designed to really excite gamers: from the annoying music to the lack of a save function. If you die and couldn’t catch any of the flying checkpoints, you have to start all over again.

The title of the game alludes to the Windows key combination with which an active application can be terminated immediately: helpful for the “Rage Quit” popular among irascible gamers, which the game is intended to trigger.

In August, the nasty game trended for a short time and drove the biggest German twitch streamers crazy. Elias “EliasN97” Nerlich described it as “evil packed in a game”, Maximilian “Trymacs” Stemmler was already upset about the controls before he had even really started.

ALTF4 also triggered outbursts of anger at MontanaBlack at the time. The streamer roared and slapped his gaming chair (via dasding).

Knight game makes MontanaBlack suffer

Why do you do this? As MontanaBlack explained, it always bothered him that he could never beat the game. At the end of 2022 he wanted to know it again and faced the old enemy.

How did that go? Pretty much as expected. In his first round, MontanaBlack was able to overcome some of the traps and obstacles. But just knowing that you have to go through particularly annoying passages again in the event of an error throws him off, according to the streamer.

In fact, MontanaBlack was right: The careless mistakes increased and he failed in later attempts due to obstacles that he had previously overcome at first go. And then there was a lot of frustration again.

However, MontanaBlack refrained from the expected freak out – out of consideration for his dog. The pug Kylo is “like a son” for the streamer, he shares custody of the four-legged friend with his ex-girlfriend.

Everything for the dog

Why did MontanaBlack keep calm? At the time of the stream, Kylo was on MontanaBlack. Reason enough for the streamer to pull himself together:

I’m a very emotional guy, I would have hit a few times now. But I’m holding back really completely because “honorary brother Kylo” is below me.

MontanaBlack explains to his viewers that the dog can’t know what’s going on. He would be startled and would even be afraid of his master. This is out of the question for the animal lover MontanaBlack.

While the streamer admits he’s had a few angry outbursts while Kylo was there, overall he’s trying hard to stay balanced.

After an hour and 15 minutes in the game, however, MontanaBlack’s patience was finally at an end: MontanaBlack left the game with Alt + F4, as was his rank.
