The government and the Sweden Democrats want parental insurance to become more flexible. This is evident from the budget for next year, reports Sweden’s Radio Ekot.
The Ekot states that it may be about taking more so-called double days when the parents can be at home with the child at the same time.
– In the families where you actually take out the double days, we also see that the rest of the withdrawal of parental allowance is more equal between the man and the woman, or both parties, says Anna Tenje (M), Minister for the Elderly and Social Insurance, to Ekot.
According to Tenje, it is still too early to say how many additional double days may be relevant.
During the child’s first year, both parents can today be off at the same time for 30 days, which is called double days.
